Premium Wi-Fi terms

The terms that apply when you purchase Premium access to Simple Storage Wi-Fi. Please read them before buying.

These terms apply to all purchases of Premium Wi-Fi access at Simple Storage.

1. Who you are buying from

Premium Wi-Fi access is sold by Simple Storage Solutions ("Simple Storage", "we", "us"), which operates the premises. The service is managed and supported on our behalf by Alreetech, Winlaton, Gateshead. Your contract for Premium access is with Simple Storage.

These terms apply together with the acceptable use policy and the privacy notice. If you buy Premium access, you accept all three.

2. What Premium access is

  • Faster managed internet access than the Free network, for use within your rented unit or office at the Simple Storage premises.
  • Access is provided by a time-limited access code issued to you for the period you purchase.
  • Access is for you and the devices used within your rented unit. It may not be shared with other customers, visitors or third parties, and may not be resold.
  • Premium access is linked to your stay: it is only available while you have an active rental agreement with Simple Storage, and expires no later than the end of that agreement even if time remains on your access period.

3. Price and payment

  • Current prices and available access periods are as displayed at reception or on this portal at the time of purchase.
  • Prices include VAT where applicable.
  • Payment is taken in full at the time of purchase; accepted payment methods are confirmed at the point of purchase.
  • Your access code will be issued once payment has been received. Keep it secure — you are responsible for activity carried out using it.
  • Access does not renew automatically. When your period ends, access stops unless you purchase a new period.

4. Cancellation and cooling-off

If you buy in person at the premises: the statutory 14-day cooling-off period for distance sales does not apply to purchases made face to face. Once your access code is issued, the purchase is final, subject to your refund rights in section 5 and your statutory rights.

If you buy online or by telephone (once available): under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel. Because Premium access is a service that begins as soon as your code is activated, you will be asked at purchase to consent to the service starting immediately and to acknowledge that:

  • if you cancel within 14 days after activating your code, you will be refunded the price less an amount reflecting the access period already elapsed;
  • once your purchased access period has been fully used or has expired, the service has been fully performed and the right to cancel no longer applies.

To cancel, contact us using the details in section 12.

5. Refunds and service problems

  • Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we must provide the service with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, you are entitled to have the problem put right or, where that is not possible, to an appropriate price reduction or refund.
  • If the Premium service is materially unavailable for a continuous period through a fault within our or Alreetech's control, we will, at your request, extend your access period by the time lost or refund the proportion of the price relating to the affected period.
  • We do not refund unused time where you simply stop using the service, leave the premises early by choice, or lose your access code.
  • No refund is due where access is suspended or withdrawn because of a serious breach of the acceptable use policy.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. Service quality and limitations

  • Premium access offers faster performance than the Free network, but Wi-Fi is a shared radio service: actual speeds vary with device capability, location within the premises, interference and overall demand. Any advertised speed is a maximum, not a guarantee.
  • The service depends on an upstream internet connection provided by a third-party provider. Faults, maintenance or outages affecting that connection are outside our direct control, though section 5 still applies to material unavailability.
  • Planned maintenance will be carried out at times chosen to minimise disruption where reasonably practicable.
  • The service is intended for general business and personal internet use. It is not suitable for safety-critical applications or any use where interruption could cause significant loss.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Comply with the acceptable use policy at all times.
  • Keep your access code confidential and your devices reasonably secure and up to date.
  • Do not share, sell or transfer your access code. Suspected sharing may result in the code being revoked.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your code has been compromised, and we will issue a replacement for the remaining period.

8. Suspension and termination

  • We may suspend or withdraw your access, without notice, if we reasonably suspect a breach of these terms or the acceptable use policy. If the suspicion proves unfounded, your access period will be extended by the time lost.
  • Your access ends automatically when your rental agreement with Simple Storage ends.
  • We may withdraw the Premium service entirely on reasonable notice; if we do, you will be refunded the proportion of the price relating to any unexpired access period.

9. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
  • Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the Premium service is limited to the price you paid for the affected access period.
  • We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you purchased access. As with any shared network, you are responsible for the security of your own data and devices; we recommend a VPN for sensitive work.

10. Personal data

Information collected in connection with Premium access — including the access code issued to you, its validity period and technical connection logs — is handled as described in the privacy notice.

11. Changes to these terms and general points

  • We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you purchase applies to that purchase; the current version is always published at storage.alreetech.uk/premium-terms.html.
  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also rely on the consumer laws and courts of your home nation.
